Building a Career in Venture Capital

Get to know Domenic Del Vecchio and Nadia Lachman, the newest members of Panache Ventures’ investment team

Domenic Del Vecchio, Associate, Montreal

Growing up in an entrepreneurial family, startups were always in my DNA. I’m familiar with the ups and downs involved in scaling a business, particularly in the early stages.

I led growth at two startups early in my career before spending 5 years leading corporate innovation teams at two of Canada’s largest companies. Eventually, I was drawn back to entrepreneurship and took a role at 37 Angels, a New York City angel syndicate focused on pre-seed and seed technology investing.

Earlier this year, I joined Panache Ventures so that I could help Canadian entrepreneurs at their earliest stages. Having a background in sales and growth, I can relate to the challenges that founding teams face, and the trade-offs they are forced to make, in search of product market fit.

I’m delighted to be part of the impressive coast-to-coast Panache team where I’m working closely with our Montreal partner Scott Loong. Following the close of our second fund, Panache is poised to lead the next wave of Canadian innovation investments and I’m excited to be a part of that.

Nadia Lachman, Analyst, Calgary

I’m thrilled to be joining Panache Ventures, and in particular Pat Lor and the investment team in Calgary. Panache's founder-first approach and commitment to diversity make it a place where I am proud to work every day.

I’m bringing my experience in health and biotech to Panache while expanding my knowledge of some of the Fund’s key sectors such as B2B SaaS, FinTech, CleanTech and others.

It is inspiring to exchange with founders that are bringing cutting edge innovations to the market. My background experience within multiple start-ups will help me support these teams with empathy and practicality.

As I develop my individual style as an investor, I hope to be a steward for women founders and life science ventures. I am excited and grateful to be a voice at the table!
